Muting or leaving a conversation

Muting

Mute a conversation from its details screen. Messages still arrive and are still readable; you stop getting notifications for them. This is the right answer for an active parent group chat you want to read on your own schedule.

Leaving

Leaving removes you from the conversation. You stop receiving messages and cannot post. Coaches should generally mute rather than leave a team conversation — leaving looks, from the parents' side, exactly like ignoring them.

Notification settings

Chat notifications can also be turned off globally under New Messages in your notification preferences, which is broader than muting one conversation. See Notification preferences.
