How can we help?

Creating a group chat or announcement channel

Two ways to talk to a whole team.

Operators

From Messages › New Conversation you can create:

Group Chat

Everyone can post and reply. Right for a team's parents coordinating a carpool, or a coaching staff planning a tournament. Give it a title — one is required.

Announcement Channel

You post; recipients read. Use Allow Coaches Replies to decide whether coaches can reply — turn it off for a one-way channel.

Which to use
  • Announcement channel for information going out to many people. It stays readable.
  • Group chat for a small number of people who genuinely need to talk to each other.
  • The feed for anything a parent might want to find again next week. Chat scrolls away; the feed does not.
Tip: A group chat with forty parents becomes unusable in about a week. Keep group chats under a dozen people and put the rest on the feed.
