How can we help?

Chat rules and what is kept

How long messages live and what to tell your club.

What is kept

Messages are retained so conversations stay readable and so a safeguarding review has something to review. Messages from people who have left show as being from a Former member rather than disappearing.

What happens on deletion

When someone exercises their right to erasure, their personal data is removed or anonymised across Bravo+, including chat. See Handling a deletion request.

Rules worth stating

Post these once at the start of the season:

  • Anything about one child goes in a direct message, never a group
  • Coaches reply during stated hours, not at 11pm
  • No photos of other people's children in group chats
  • The feed is where announcements live; chat is not searchable and things get lost in it
Tip: A club with three written chat rules has fewer chat problems than a club with none and better intentions.
