An athlete appears twice
Why duplicates happen and what to do.
OperatorsThe usual cause
The club added the athlete during roster setup, and then the parent added their own child when they joined — two records for one human.
What to do
- Work out which record has the history: points, attendance, skill level.
- Keep that one, and remove the empty duplicate from the roster.
- Make sure the surviving record is linked to the parent's account. A record with no guardian sends no notifications.
If both records have history
Do not remove either. Contact support — merging two records with awards against each is not something to do by deleting one.
Preventing it
Add athletes yourself or let parents add them, not both. If you pre-build rosters, tell parents to tick the existing child at join time rather than creating a new one.
Tip: Check for duplicates about a week after your intake. Two records for one child means half their points land in a profile nobody looks at.
