How can we help?

How points work

Categories, awards and totals, in one page.

Operators

Points are small, frequent, named pieces of recognition. A coach awards points to an athlete in a category, optionally with a note, and the athlete's family is told.

The pieces
  • Categories are set by the operator — Effort, Teamwork, Technique, whatever you value. Each has a name in both languages and a colour.
  • Awards are made by coaches, in the app, on the spot.
  • Totals accumulate per category and overall, and are visible to the athlete and their guardians.
  • Badges are earned automatically at milestone totals.
Why it is worth doing

The point is not gamification. It is that a parent who hears nothing from a club for six weeks assumes nothing is happening. Two points a week per child, each naming something specific, is the difference between a club families stay at and one they drift away from.

Tip: Points work when they are specific and frequent. A hundred points for "good season" says less than three points for "stayed to help stack the mats".
