Removing a comment
Deal with a comment that should not be there.
GestionnairesOperators and Team Admins can remove any comment in their scope. Open the comment and choose to delete it.
When to remove
- Personal criticism of a child, a parent or a coach
- Anything that identifies a child's private circumstances
- Abuse, or a dispute that has stopped being about the post
When not to
Disagreement, and complaints about your decisions. Deleting a critical but reasonable comment costs more trust than the comment ever did.
Doing it well
- Remove the comment.
- Message the author privately and say why, straight away. A comment that vanishes without explanation becomes a much bigger conversation.
- If the underlying issue is real, answer it publicly in your own words.
- If the thread is still going, turn comments off on that post.
Tip: Write down your club's two or three comment rules and post them once at the start of the season. Enforcing a stated rule is straightforward; enforcing an unstated one is an argument.
