Turning AI translation on or off

The consent that decides whether your posts can be translated.

Gestionnaires

Because translation sends post text to a machine-translation service, it is opt-in and controlled by the author.

Turning it on

In the app, open Settings › AI Translation and turn on Let members translate my posts. The screen records when consent was given: "Consent recorded {timestamp}."

The screen also records when consent was withdrawn, if you turn it back off.

What happens with it off

"Off. Members who read in another language will see your posts only in the language you wrote them in." Nothing breaks — bilingual families simply do their own translating.

What is actually sent

The text of the post. No additional personal data is transmitted, and nothing about the reader.

For events

Event posts need the operator's AI-translation consent to be translatable: "Needs the operator's AI-translation consent in Settings."

Tip: In a club with families in both languages, turn it on. The alternative is not "no translation" — it is parents pasting your posts into an external translator, which sends the same text somewhere you did not choose.
